For pregnancies after 16 weeks, Texas law requires that abortions must be performed in a hospital or ambulatory surgical site.  This may be cost prohibitive for some women. There are clinics in other states that are able to schedule you for an outpatient, in-office surgical procedure. The procedure for and cost of these procedures depends on the size of the pregnancy on the day you arrive at the clinic.  It is recommended that you have an ultrasound to size the pregnancy.  The Fairmount Center can do an ultrasound for you and give you the measurement that will help in scheduling an appointment elsewhere.  If you schedule for an appointment at Curtis Boyd, MD, PC, the cost of the Fairmount Center ultrasound will be deducted from the abortion cost.
